Are You Ready for a STIHL?

BR 700 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 161.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best blower on the market I am a professional landscaper and I blow off a lot of parking lots and at my commercial properties this blower is amazing. I am a 6,1 217 Lb man and this blower has almost blown me over a few times when I have lost my balance. To anyone thinking about purchasing equipment for yard work or landscaping buy Stihl trust me, I have been in the business for over 10 years now and have yet to have one Stihl product fail on me. I am pretty hard on my equipment because me and my guys use it so much and I expect it best out of it. I keep all my equipment clean and serviced, every time it rains and I can't work I take 1-3 hours and maintenance my Stihl products throughly and it makes a difference. If you buy Stihl you will save money in the long run because you will buy a quality piece of equipment that last and you won't have to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, lightweight, low vibration, fuel efficient. I recently moved onto a property that has about 2 acres of oak and pine trees. The oaks are northern California variety, with small spiky leaves rather than large broad leaves like those on the east coast. The previous property owner didn't clear the property regularly, so about 6 inches deep of leaves have accumulated into a thick layer of duff, making a huge fire hazard around my house. I bought the BR 700 after renting and testing out the BR 600 from the local Stihl dealer. I've spent about 4 hours so far blowing leaves into piles for eventual hauling, mulching, or controlled burning (in winter/spring). The BR 700 works so well at moving huge volumes of heavy oak leaves and pine needles. I'm super impressed at how efficient the machine works, and it's making my job so much easier. It is comfortable, has great anti-vibration, is relatively quiet, and has great features like the cruise control and twist-to-extend nozzle. It's also super easy to start. When the machine is cold (and the weather is warm), it turns over with full choke after one pull, and then it fires up on the second pull, every time. When teh blower is warm, one light pull is all that is needed to start it again.I can run the blower for well over an hour on a single tank of 50:1 fuel, which I am more than happy with because any longer would be fatiguing.I am ecstatic with my purchase of the BR 700!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effortless to use I have had it for a year, as of this review. I often use it to blow off my patio at idle and feather the throttle as needed. I rarely need full throttle, but it comes in handy when blowing from long distances to get debris far away and for moving my neighbor’s stupid pine needles out of my yard. ;o). I love this tool and I look forward to excuses to use it! I tend to find new reasons too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I bought this blower for a large yard with lots of trees. The power of this blower allows me to get so much more done in one day. It’s easy to use! Reliable. Powerful!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blower after cheap fix I read the reviews about the BR700 and the most common complaint was the loss of velocity in exchange for the higher cfm. 90% of the time the velocity is adequate, but when it's not, there's a cheap fix. Buy a tip for a BR600 and swap it onto the blower when you need the extra velocity. The tip is inexpensive and it makes a huge difference when I need it. Stihl, if you're listening, package the 700 with a spare 600 tip and a chest strap. You'll be 5 stars from then on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A large property owner or commercial mowers dream. First off let me say that if you're a small property owner or someone who does tree service, don't buy this machine if you're a small property owner just get a handheld model and if you're someone in the tree service I'd recommend getting a br 600 blower instead because it's velocity is higher and is better for moving smaller, finer, objects like wood chips and dirt which you'll find a lot of in the tree service. If you're a commercial mower this thing is perfect for cleaning off larger or average sized driveways in a hurry it's great for clumps of grass clippings that may have gotten on to your trailer or whatever driveway you're blowing off. I haven't used it on larger quantities of leaves yet but this is the champion of leaves so I'll just take stihl's word. This thing is pretty heavy which is to be expected because this is a big blower but it doesn't feel like you have that much weight on your back, the straps are very comfortable however they do tend to want to slide off your shoulders on each side so a chest strap is good idea to pull the straps to a more comfortable place the chest strap should've been included and I've been waiting 2 weeks for it to be shipped to my dealer idk if they'll call me when it gets here? This thing starts first pull every time very easy. Tl;Dr needs chest strap, don't purchase if in the tree service, do purchase if you're a commercial mower/leaf remover or a large property owner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The BR700 sacrifices too much velocity for volume The headline says it all. The successor to the BR600 should be top dog. The huge improvement in volume is great but the decrease in velocity negates this for me and my crews. The loss of 30mph from the 600 makes this blower undesireable. It acts more like a gust of wind rather than a sharp powerful tool that you need to clean out beds, shrub trimmings and break up stuck leaves. This blower acts more like a push leaf blower than a backpack. It may outperform the 600 for some leaf cleanup jobs but I buy a tool for 12 months out of the year, not 2 or 3. Bottom line is my crews stick with the 600. The best balance of volume AND velocity for ALL jobs. Although, we look forward to when Stihl unveils the BR800? with a new engine platform that can deliver improvements on both volume and velocity.
